repairing rips and tears

Here is a tip about how to repair rips and tears in pram hoods and aprons. You will need a tube of flexible repair adhesive, obtainable from car accessory shops or caravan/camping stores.  Smooth out the tear until it is flat, bringing the edges of the fabric as close together as possible to make a neat join. Then on the FRONT side of the fabric place a length of sellotape over the tear. On the REVERSE side, clean off any dirt or grease with a solvent remover, then smooth the adhesive over the tear and leave to dry overnight or at least 12 hours. When the adhesive is dry, remove the sellotape and the tear will be fixed and barely noticable. The adhesive is waterproof and ideal for repairs to other fabrics as well as prams and can be used on tents, caravan awnings, in fact any flexible material that has been torn.

  2. Personally I would try and pull this together so it will close up, if it is so small the material might give enough to do this.
