Spring is in the air so now is the time to get those prams out of storage and cleaned up ready for wheeling out, either with a baby in them or to take to some of the prammie events. The first thing to do is to check the pram hasn't suffered any damage whilst in storage. Hopefully you will have carefully stored it away somewhere not too cold or too warm and not damp, and covered it with a dustsheet.
Remove the dustcover and give the pram bodywork and chrome a good polish, using a reputable chrome cleaner for the chrome and then buffing up until you can see your face in it!
The hood and apron will also need a facelift by brushing gently.
The interior would benefit from a wipe down too, essential if the pram is to be used for a baby.
When you are happy with the gleaming condition of your pram, put it in the garden to blow some fresh air around it and generally freshen it up.
myn dosnt go in to storage at the min as is used every day for baby. but how would i store her when baby is too big for her?
ReplyDeletefirst of all make sure the pram is clean inside and out and find a place in the house preferably to store the pram. Damp sheds and garages are not ideal but if you have nowhere else then make sure you protect the pram by doing the following: Grease all the chrome with vaseline to protect it from rust, keep the hood up and the apron on and cover them all with a dustsheet, not polythene as this will make the pram "sweat". To be honest though I have a pram that had been stored in an old garage for over 20 years and the chrome is not at all bad and that hadn't been protected in any way, it hadn't even been covered up, but has cleaned up well once I got all the dirt off!
